It just seems like we're always on vacation because we live a mile from the ocean, it's always 60 to 70 degrees, Coop is always so damn happy, etc.
Real vacations: last August - Toronto/Finger Lakes December - long weekend in Sonoma Feb - a week in FLA Is that excessive? We realized that Coop has been on a plane four times; Mel and I didn't take our first flight until we were teenagers.
Actually, I'd thought of that yesterday: I associate pictures of beaches with vacations. I can't remember if I told you I reconnected with a college friend who lives in your town. He also posts pictures of paradise, and writes things like "got home from work and went surfing." I even dreamed the other night that we just packed up and moved down there. Ainsley has no interest, and I don't know if I could really do it. Anyway, we'll have that week in Captiva...
Welcome to the Mellen Patch, a nice spot in Southern California down San Diego way... The Patch is in a new phase of development: It's pretty much all Cooper all the time. Life since his arrival - May 20th, 2007 - has been both challenging and magical. We'll do our best to spare you the challenging bits. Thanks for stopping by.

It all looks very pretty. We are going to Captiva Island in just three weeks. I checked a map and it looks like you're on the same side of FL.
Are you always on vacation, or does it just seem that way because you post vacations here?
